DAY 17: Full Circle
Observation of the day Traveling is awesome, but heading home is the best. Quote of the day “It’s like riding that giant ferris wheel in Atlanta. You can ride while watching your car getting broken into.” -- a South Carolina tourist responding to his wife when she said the view looked at a parking lot. VM & EM: Today we reluctantly said so long to our bunny friends and headed south by 8:30am. We went from N. Carolina to S. Carolina to Georgia and finally, Florida! Except for some nasty rainstorms, most of the driving was uneventful, boring I-95 driving. By 2:30pm we pulled into our last pit stop of this adventure, the Sea Cottages of Amelia Island ( https://seacottagesofamelia.com ). Back to the humidity! EM scouted out a spot in Fernandina Beach for linner, The Salty Pelican ( https://thesaltypelicanamelia.com ). We enjoyed the most delicious shrimp.
